Arguably the most fascinating characters of the movie are the Dora Milaje, an elite group of highly trained female warriors of Wakanda that are tasked with protecting the king and the nation. A study conducted by the National Human Rights Commission shows how out of touch the 2019 Transgender Rights Bill is from the ground reality of human rights violations against transgenders.

In November 2019, the Rajya Sabha passed the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Bill to widespread opposition from various trans-activists, lawyers and civil society groups. The bill defines a transgender person as “one whose gender does not match the gender assigned at birth. It includes trans-men and trans-women, persons with intersex variations, gender-queers, and persons with socio-cultural identities, such as kinnar and hijra.”

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) confirmed 484 positive COVID-19 cases in India as of Tuesday, 24th March. Roughly 300 of those have been reported in the last four days.
